Update from our new tenants David and Sarah

Firstly Sarah and I would like to extend our gratitude for the warm welcome we have received from everyone we have met so far, and we are looking forward meeting many more of you in the coming weeks.

To keep you all abreast of the pubs current state. We will be opening from 4.30pm on Monday 29th, with the kitchen opening at 6pm. We will then be open for the remainder of that week culminating in mothering Sunday (please book early as we already have around 60% of our available tables booked).

Thereafter the kitchen and dining room will be closed for a approx 10 further days while the entire kitchen is replaced and refurbished.

For our opening week we will be offering a snap shot of what we intend to do moving forward, we ask that you bear with us in certain instances as the team of chefs has limited equipment to work with. Needless to say though that Matt our head chef and his team are very talented and will still produce fantastic food.

Finally we are having a photo shoot on Wednesday Morning/afternoon and from about 1.30pm onwards we will be offering free tastings of any of the food and drink that has been photographed so if your around please pop along.

Once again a big thank you for the warm welcome, we hope to see you soon.

David, Sarah and the team.

Refurbishment almost finished!

David and Sarah have now taken over the Fox and Hounds and are making significant progress with the refurbishment. They are on schedule for reopening on Monday 29th February for one week, including Mother’s Day, before the short closure of the restaurant for a kitchen refit, however the bar will still be open!

Goodbye and Hello!

It was really nice to see so many shareholders and villagers at Andy and Julz’s farewell party and I suspect there were quite a few sore heads Sunday morning!
Whilst it is sad to see Andy and Julz’s go, we had David Webster waiting in the wings and he took possession of the keys yesterday (16th February). David is very enthusiastic and has big plans for the Fox and Hounds. He is also making a substantial investment to refurbish the kitchen and the restrooms.
Sadly this will mean a short closure but David promises it will all be worth it. The plan is to close for 10 days to carry out the work on the restrooms, then open for a week to include Mothers Day. The following week the pub will then only be open for drinks whilst the kitchen and dining room are refurbished. David hopes for the pub to be fully open from 14th March 2016.
We look forward to seeing you all there to raise a glass to the next chapter of our village pub.

Fox and Hounds Update

Since Andy and Julz advised us they would be leaving the Fox and Hounds in February 2016, the Board of Directors of the Charwelton Community Pub and Shop Ltd have been advertising and interviewing for a new tenant. Following a lengthy selection process we are very pleased to announce that a new 3 year lease was signed on Monday 18th January 2016 with David Webster and his partner Sarah Goode.
David and Sarah currently run the very successful The Black Horse in Fulmer, Buckinghamshire. David and Sarah have wanted the Fox and Hounds for many years and expressed an interest when the pub was first up for sale, so they were the first at our door when the lease came up for sale.
David has a passion for food and is a qualified Sommelier. His vision is to create a warm and friendly country atmosphere where people want to meet friends for a drink as well as dine. David and Sarah are proving their commitment by making a substantial investment in refurbishing the kitchen and the washrooms. To enable this, the pub will be closed for 2 weeks with the aim of being open by the beginning of March 2016.
We would like to welcome David and Sarah and wish them every success with this new venture.

Fox and Hounds update

It has been a while since our last update so we thought we would inform you of the current status of the Fox and Hounds. Whilst we will be sad to see Andy and Julz go in February 2016 we will be entering a new phase for the Fox and Hounds. The committee are currently interviewing a few very impressive potential tenants and we hope to make a decision soon. Whomever we choose, we are confident that the pub will continue to go from strength to strength and remain the popular meeting and eating place that it has become.
We will announce the new tenant as soon as the lease has been signed. In the meantime, we hope to see you all for a drink or two over the festive period.

The Board would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Fox and Hounds update

It is with great regret that we have to announce that Andy and Julz have decided to move on and will be leaving the F&H in February 2016. We are sorry to see them go and wish them well for the future. Consequently, we are now interviewing for a new tenant landlord so if you are interested or know anyone who is interested or that you can recommend, please let us know.

The weeks are flying by at The Fox and Hounds and they are still fabulously busy, Mothers Day was a great success and they have had some wonderful feed back and reviews. The Steak and Burger Nights are proving very popular and so is Sunday lunch. Booking is recommended to avoid disappointment!
